in Epping

A buried repair you cannot show is a repair nobody knows about

Relining is a genuinely good fix. A resin sleeve goes through the pipe you already have and cures hard, the fault is sealed continuously, and nothing above ground is touched. The line works, the garden is intact, and everybody is satisfied.

And then it disappears, because it is underground. The day after the job, a lined section looks exactly like any other pipe to anybody who has not seen the footage, which by then is everybody.

That is fine right up until it matters. A buyer's inspection notices a lined section and asks what it was for. A blockage recurs three years later and a different plumber needs to know what was already done to that run. In both cases the honest answer is a file, and the expensive answer is starting again.

So we film before, film after, and write down what was done and why. It costs nothing extra and it turns a repair you have to describe into a repair you can hand somebody.

Had a line repaired before?

See whether you still have the footage. If nobody gave you any, that is worth knowing before somebody quotes the same section again.

Local relining guide

Relining in Epping

A liner is invisible the next day

Underground, and identical to any other pipe to anybody who has not seen the footage.

Which is everybody, unless somebody kept a file.

It comes up at sale

A buyer's inspection finds a lined section and asks what it was for.

A recording and a written note answers that in thirty seconds.

And when a problem recurs

The next plumber needs to know what was already tried on that run.

Without a record, the cheapest thing they can do is start again.

A collapse cannot be lined

A pipe that has lost its shape or its grade needs that section replaced.

The footage says which you have before you commit to a method.

The documentation costs nothing

It is a by-product of doing the job properly rather than an add-on.

Any plumber putting a camera down already has it.

How a relining job runs.

Step 01
Camera inspecting a drain before relining in Epping

Filmed end to end

Not only the defect. The length and the bends decide whether a liner is the right method at all.

Step 02
Quoting a pipe relining job in Epping

Quoted off the footage

A figure built on what the camera showed, with the recording behind it rather than a description.

Step 03
Installing a pipe liner in Epping

Cleaned and lined

The pipe prepared, the liner installed and cured in place, and any junctions reopened.

Step 04
Handing over relining documentation in Epping

Filed, not just finished

Second recording, written record, both handed to you, because in five years that is the whole story of this repair.

What is relining, in plain terms?

A resin sleeve is drawn through the pipe you already have and cured hard in place, using the old pipe as a mould. The defect is sealed and any joint that had opened is bridged, leaving a continuous surface with no entry point. Nothing gets excavated.

Why do you keep talking about documentation on a repair page?

Because a buried repair is invisible the day after it is done. If somebody inspects this property in five years, all they will see is a pipe. Footage from before, footage from after and a written record of what was done is the difference between a repair you can show and a repair you have to describe.

Does that actually matter?

It does at sale, when a buyer's inspection finds a lined section and asks what it is, and it does when a recurring problem comes back and somebody needs to know what was already tried. Both of those are years away and both are cheaper with a file.

How long does a liner last?

The material is rated at around fifty years. More usefully, the repair is continuous, so there is no joint left at the point that failed.

Does the pipe get narrower?

By a couple of millimetres, and it rarely matters. The new inner surface is smoother than the original, so flow generally ends up the same or better.

Can everything be relined?

No. A pipe that has collapsed, lost its shape or dropped out of grade needs that section replaced instead, and the footage settles which of those you have before you commit.

What does relining cost in Epping?

A patch over a single defect is $1,500 to $2,500. A full section is $4,000 to $9,000 depending on length and access. The camera inspection first is $250 to $450 and comes off the job if you proceed.
